Gruber Motors is one of the largest Tesla Roadster Repair shops in the world. Tracing the history of this car, they had possession of the vehicle for several years attempting to get a new battery pack for it. The team at Gruber was not aware of the history of this car or the Roadster RR concept name and referred to the car as "The Visible Carbon Fiber Roadster". This was a testimony to the discretion of the program

At 2:40 there is some recognition of the car, although the story about it's cost nor the discussion about an employee being fired is not verified. Sometimes news stories can be embellished for the sake of being click bait. We have not verified the program cost or if the change of employment was the result of this car.

Cars and Bids

A very good article about the Tesla Roadster RR for Cars and Bids, a couple inaccuracies: The new R80 Battery is 80kW not 88kW per the video. The Carbon body work was NOT part of the upgrade kit.  Otherwise this is a very good video of the car and the history of Tesla.
